Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror is one of the most interesting horror anthologies I have ever read. Like any anthology, it has its ups and down, but what I love about it is how varied the styles, subject matters, and “monsters” are.

Just to highlight Flicker by L.D. Lewis: this story has one of the most interesting concepts I have ever come across. The idea that underlies this story comes into my mind very often. It is both simple enough and plausible enough that it sticks with you to the point that you will see its shadow passing your vision every once in a while.
